Martin Odegaard has been hailed as the best signing of the winter transfer window time and time again due to the impact he has had on Mikel Arteta’s team. The first half of the season saw Arsenal fans calling out for a creative playmaker, and that was answered when they signed the Real Madrid player on loan.
However, that is exactly where the problem is for the Gunners, that the Norwegian’s loan deal is set to expire at the end of the season, wherein he will return to the Spanish capital. Arsenal and Real Madrid will meet to discuss the player’s future at the end of the season, but for now, he is an Arsenal player.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is also very appreciative about the midfielder’s attitude in training and on the pitch, too.
“I speak with Ødegaard every day. I see his face, his body language: he seems really happy here at Arsenal. His contract here is until the end of the season. What we have to do is try to make him perform, develop and be as happy as he can be”.
Arsenal fans will be hoping to see the player beyond this season, but the only way that is possible is if Madrid agree to another loan deal, or agree to a permanent transfer, which completely depends on Zinedine Zidane’s plans for next season and whether or not Martin Odegaard fits into them.
