What Happened in the Finale?

The finale saw Geum-bo dismantle the financial corruption surrounding Hanmin Securities, as outside investors withdrew once the truth about the stolen funds came to light, stripping Chairman Kang of control.

The most surprising moment? Geum-bo chose to save Song Ju-ran — the very woman who spent the series manipulating others — because Ju-ran was one of the few people who knew the full truth behind the slush funds and cover-ups at Hanmin Securities.

As for romance, the show avoided a dramatic resolution between Geum-bo and Albert Oh, instead giving them a calm, respectful conversation that acknowledged everything they went through together — keeping the emotional door open without forcing a conclusion.

Why Fans Are Begging for Season 2

The finale didn’t close the book — it flipped to a new chapter. The final moments shift focus to Busan’s Gwangalli coast, hinting at a new undercover operation, this time linked to a company called You and Me Insurance, with Bok-hee ready to join Geum-bo as a partner.

Several bodies have been discovered along highways and hills in South Gyeongsang Province, and every victim has a connection to insurance — making this a potential serial murder case that Geum-bo is positioned to crack.

The numbers back the fan enthusiasm too. The show climbed from a 3.5% rating at premiere to a personal best of 13.12% nationwide for Episode 15 — one of the strongest growth trajectories for a tvN drama in recent memory.

Will Season 2 Actually Happen?

As of now, the series is labeled a limited series on Netflix — and Korean dramas traditionally follow a one-season format, making renewals rare. However, the show spent three consecutive weeks in Netflix’s global Top 10, racking up over 1.4 million views within days of launch — numbers that have influenced platform decisions before.

The creative team has the blueprint for Season 2 already written into the finale. Whether tvN and Netflix act on it remains the only question.
