Twitter Is Completely Divided Over Vijay–Trisha’s Viral Wedding Appearance

Tamil cinema’s biggest controversy of 2026 just hit a new fever pitch. Thalapathy Vijay and Trisha Krishnan — who have been rumoured to be in a relationship for years — made their first public appearance together at the wedding reception of producer Kalpathi S. Suresh’s son in Chennai, twinning in matching off-white ethnic outfits, and the internet absolutely lost its mind.

What Twitter Is Actually Saying?

The Viral Moment — What Actually Happened

Vijay and Trisha arrived together at the AGS Entertainment family’s wedding celebration in style — twinning in matching off-white ethnic outfits. Trisha opted for an off-white Kanjeevaram saree with gold zari and red piping border, paired with a contrast red sleeveless blouse, statement diamond-emerald necklace, and dewy makeup. Vijay twinned in an off-white silk shirt paired with a matching golden zari dhoti, flaunting his signature salt-and-pepper hairdo and thick beard. Wikipedia

The majority of Vijay and Trisha fans are celebrating this rare moment, lauding their idols for their unmatched ‘guts’ and calling their recent appearance a ‘power move’ — believing Vijay finally reacted to his estranged wife’s allegations in his signature gutsy style.

But it wasn’t all admiration. One social media user wrote: “As a southie, the celebrity worship culture must be stopped ASAP — these two very grown adults must be condemned for their very disastrous actions.” Another commented: “Vijay acting all proud with Trisha, grinning in public… zero shame, zero self-awareness, zero respect for himself.”

The Political Angle Nobody Saw Coming

Here’s the twist that makes this so much bigger than gossip. With Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections approaching, several commentators believe Vijay may have just committed political suicide — noting that Indian society expects public figures, especially those seeking political office, to be idealistic in their personal lives as well. The divorce petition filed by Sangeetha mentioned that Vijay continued to travel abroad and attend public events with the actress, causing her emotional agony — and given the existing rumours linking Vijay and Trisha, many have now connected the dots publicly.

Meanwhile, an old clip of Trisha calling Vijay her “home” at the Leo success meet has resurfaced and is going viral again — adding yet another layer to a story that Tamil Nadu simply cannot stop talking about. 🔁
