If you’re a Wednesday fan, buckle up — Season 3 just became the most talked-about Netflix production of 2026. With production already underway in Ireland, the show has dropped a bombshell casting update that’s got the internet absolutely buzzing. And honestly? We didn’t see this one coming, but it makes perfect sense.

The Beetlejuice Reunion We Never Knew We Needed

Winona Ryder, the iconic actress beloved for her work across decades of Hollywood, has officially landed a guest-starring role in Wednesday Season 3. This isn’t just any casting — it’s a full-circle Beetlejuice reunion. Ryder is reuniting with director Tim Burton, lead star Jenna Ortega (her on-screen daughter from Beetlejuice Beetlejuice), and the show’s writing duo Al Gough and Miles Millar.

The showrunners couldn’t contain their excitement, calling Ryder the “GOAT” of Outcasts and praising her legendary creative partnership with Tim Burton. Burton himself called her a dear friend, adding that she “fits right into this world.” Her role details are still under wraps — which honestly makes it even more thrilling.

This also marks a swift Netflix return for Ryder, who just wrapped up her long-running role as Joyce Byers in Stranger Things, which concluded its run with a two-hour series finale on New Year’s Eve.

One Door Opens, Another Closes

While fans celebrate Ryder’s arrival, there’s a bittersweet goodbye to process too. Noah B. Taylor, who played fan-favourite Bruno Yuson in Season 2, will not be returning for Season 3. No detailed reasons have been shared, but the writers are clearly making space for fresh storylines and new characters.

Beyond Ryder, Eva Green is joining as Aunt Ophelia — the sister of Catherine Zeta-Jones’s Morticia Addams — and Joanna Lumley has been promoted to a series regular. It’s shaping up to be the biggest season yet.
