What Is Ghosts About?
Ghosts tells the story of a married New York couple who move to a new house in the countryside, only to discover it is thoroughly haunted by ghosts from different periods in history. Analytics Insight Think warm, witty, and wonderfully absurd — every ghost carries a unique backstory rooted in a different historical era, making for endlessly inventive comedy. The series is based on the popular British show of the same name. Analytics Insight
It’s the kind of comfort watch that somehow keeps getting better with every episode. No wonder it exploded the moment it hit Netflix.
How Is It Performing on Netflix?
The numbers don’t lie. Since being added to Netflix in over two dozen countries on January 31st, 2025, Ghosts entered the Top 10 in almost all regions that acquired it, and ranked as the eleventh most popular series globally as of February 5th, 2025. The show is performing especially strongly in New Zealand, Australia, France, and Sweden — where it sits in the top 3 TV series. Analytics Insight
That’s a remarkable debut for a show that arrived without any major Netflix promotional push.
Which Countries Have Ghosts on Netflix?
The licensed rollout covers over two dozen regions including Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, New Zealand, Sweden, Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Finland, and more. Analytics Insight Notably, the show is not available on Netflix in the US or UK — American viewers can catch it on Paramount+, while UK audiences can stream it via BBC iPlayer.
Will Seasons 3 & 4 Come to Netflix?
The series was licensed to Netflix on a short one-year deal, meaning it could depart as early as January 2026 if new seasons aren’t added. The show is currently midway through Season 4 on CBS, with Season 5 yet to be officially announced. Analytics Insight Fingers crossed Netflix renews the licensing deal — this one’s far too good to lose.
Ghosts has earned its reputation as one of the most charming sitcoms of the decade, and its Netflix debut is only going to grow that fanbase further.
