“I Didn’t Know He Would Actually Come” — Mrunal Thakur

Speaking to Mirchi Plus while promoting Do Deewane Seher Mein, Mrunal was asked point-blank about Dhanush attending the Son of Sardar 2 event. Her answer? Pure fangirl energy.

She described herself as a massive admirer of Dhanush’s body of work — citing Raayan, Maari, Raanjhanaa, Captain Miller, and especially Asuran as films she can watch repeatedly. While Dhanush was in the middle of shooting Tere Ishk Mein, Mrunal casually asked if he could attend her film’s screening. She didn’t expect him to say yes — let alone actually show up. But he did, and she was genuinely thrilled. She even expressed a wish to collaborate with him professionally someday.

It’s worth noting that Mrunal has also publicly dismissed the swirling marriage rumours, calling them premature and unfounded.

Who Is Mrunal Thakur?

Mrunal Thakur is one of Hindi cinema’s most exciting young actresses, known for seamlessly straddling mainstream blockbusters and indie dramas. Starting her career in Indian television, she made her Bollywood mark with Super 30 (2019) alongside Hrithik Roshan, and later earned wide critical acclaim for Sita Ramam (2022), a Telugu period romance that introduced her to an enormous South Indian fanbase. She has also starred in Jersey, Pippa, and the Lust Stories anthology. Her latest release, Do Deewane Seher Mein, is a coming-of-age romantic drama set in Mumbai, directed by Ravi Udyawar and co-starring Siddhant Chaturvedi. Learn more about her on Wikipedia.

Who Is Dhanush?

Dhanush needs little introduction to South Indian cinema fans, but Bollywood audiences got properly introduced to him through Raanjhanaa (2013) — Aanand L Rai’s beloved romantic drama — which earned him a Filmfare Award. He is a Tamil superstar, National Award winner, actor, producer, and singer, celebrated for intense, layered performances in films like Asuran, Karnan, Vada Chennai, and Maari. His crossover appeal is undeniable — he has also appeared in the Hollywood film The Gray Man (2022). On the work front, Dhanush is currently gearing up for the action thriller Kara (directed by Vignesh Raja, co-starring Mamitha Baiju, expected Summer 2026) and has also launched D55, a high-profile project with Mammootty and Sreeleela under director Rajkumar Periasamy.
