The 50 Controversy: Karan Patel Threatens to Quit After Rajat Dalal’s Violent Outburst

Reality TV’s newest sensation, The 50, has erupted into chaos barely days after its February 1 premiere. Popular contestant Digvijay Singh Rathee threatened to quit the show after a heated physical altercation with fellow contestant Rajat Dalal on February 2, 2026 ZAWYA, but it’s television star Karan Patel’s furious reaction that’s now making headlines.

The 50 Incident That Shocked Viewers

Karan Patel’s Breaking Point

After witnessing the violent clash between Rajat and Digvijay, TV actor Karan Patel completely lost his composure, stating unequivocally: “I’m quitting the show right now if this is acceptable. No boss, no more physical activities for me, and this will be my last activity. If you’re going to let this go, I’m not going to perform any more activities. I didn’t sign up for this sh*t.”

His frustration highlights a growing concern about contestant safety in India’s increasingly aggressive reality TV landscape.

The Rajat-Digvijay Clash

Rajat lost his cool, slapped Digvijay, grabbed his neck, and shoved him after Digvijay called him hypocritical for staying silent when Siddharth abused Karan earlier Devdiscourse. The confrontation occurred during a task when tensions boiled over about respect and double standards inside the house.

According to Colors TV’s official platform, The 50 operates under a “no fixed rules” format presided over by a mysterious game master called The Lion, which has created an environment where physical aggression seemingly goes unpunished.

Kashish Kapoor Calls Out the Problem

Former reality TV contestant Kashish Kapoor didn’t hold back, criticizing both the incident and audience complicity. She emphasized that “violence can never be justified and is illegal,” adding that this marks the third time such behavior has occurred. Kashish blamed viewers for demanding “kalesh” (conflict) and drama without considering the human cost, stating audiences prioritize entertainment over ethics.

The Bigger Pattern

This isn’t Rajat’s first brush with physical confrontation. In Bigg Boss 18, Farah Khan warned Rajat against physical fights or face eviction Devdiscourse, yet here he is repeating the same behavior on another show. Social media reactions have been brutal, with one fan commenting: “Once a gunda, always a gunda.”

The controversy raises critical questions about reality TV ethics, producer responsibility, and whether TRP ratings justify normalizing violence for entertainment.
