The Long-Awaited Collaboration

In an exclusive conversation, Aditi revealed the excitement of working with Vijay Sethupathi after three almost-collaborations that never materialized. “This was one I finally got to do with him,” she shared enthusiastically.

The actress plays Gayatri, a neighbor who becomes the object of Mahadev’s (Vijay’s character) affection in this silent masterpiece directed by Kishor Pandurang Belekar.

Why Gandhi Talks Stood Out

When asked what drew her to this project, Aditi explained:

“It was told in a satirical, dark comedy vibe but has tremendous depth—it’s a relevant comment on society. The director’s obsession with his film was infectious, especially after working on it for many years.”

According to Pinkvilla’s exclusive interview, the combination of stellar cast including Arvind Swami and music maestro A.R. Rahman sealed the deal.

Breaking Language Barriers Through Cinema

Having worked across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam industries, Aditi brings a unique perspective to understanding regional cinema. She emphasized that a silent film reinforced an important truth:

“Cinema is about feeling—not Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, or any language. It’s just your heart, your eyes, your face, your body language.”

The actress highlighted how Gandhi Talks strips away linguistic boundaries, focusing purely on human emotions, dreams, and aspirations that unite us all.

Missing the South Film Industry

Aditi candidly admitted to missing her work in South Indian cinema while being stationed in Mumbai. The multi-lingual actress stressed that differences in filmmaking come not from language but from the director’s vision and how they run their set.

The Silent Film Experience

Working on a dialogue-free project presented unique creative challenges. Aditi found the experience reinforced that storytelling transcends words—it’s about conveying emotion through performance, expression, and physicality.

The film presents contrasting worlds through Mahadev’s modest life and Boseman’s (Arvind Swami) crumbling business empire, exploring how money influences choices and relationships.
