From National Skater to K-Pop Star

Before debuting with ENHYPEN in 2020, Sunghoon competed as reserve member of South Korea’s national figure skating team (2010-2020). His athletic career spanned a decade of Olympic aspirations.

“During my days as an athlete, it was my dream to participate in the Olympics,” Sunghoon revealed. “It feels like I’ve now achieved that dream as a singer, so I’m delighted and honored.”

As Korean Sport & Olympic Committee Ambassador, Sunghoon brings unique dual perspective: “Because I’m well aware of the passion and hard work of the national athletes… I am rooting for them wholeheartedly.”

K-Pop’s Olympic Tradition

He follows BTS’ Jin, who carried the torch at 2024 Paris Summer Olympics. This K-pop Olympic tradition now extends to Winter Games, showcasing idols’ expanding role in international sporting events and leveraging their influence to engage younger global audiences with Olympic values.
