Vivo S9 series launched in China, could arrive in India as Vivo V21 series

Vivo has launched its Vivo S9 series a couple of days ago in China with decent processors and nice camera modules. It is also expected that in India, China’s Vivo S9 series could get launched as Vivo V21 series. To be more specific, Vivo S9 is expected to get launched as Vivo V21 Pro. As of now, no confirmation is there so we can take it as a pinch of salt. In China, Vivo has unveiled two models in the S9 series, Vivo S9 and Vivo S9e. So, let’s check out the specifications of both devices.

Vivo S9

Vivo S9 runs OriginOS 1.0 based on Android 11 and is powered by the 6 nm-based MediaTek Dimensity 1100 chipset. Regarding the display, this phone offers a 6.44-inch OLED display having a refresh rate of 90Hz, touch sampling rate of 180Hz, a TÜV Rheinland Eye Comfort Certification, an SGS Seamless certification, and the support for HDR10+. This phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The SoC of this phone is paired with 8GB/12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.1 non-expandable storage.

Coming to the camera section, this phone offers a triple rear camera setup that includes a 64MP primary sensor with OIS along with an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. For selfies, this phone has a dual front camera setup inside a widened notch that includes a 44MP primary sensor with autofocus and an 8MP ultrawide angle camera with a portrait lens, useful for wide-angle selfies.

The Vivo S9 is fueled up by a 4,000mAH battery supported by 33W of fast charging. In terms of connectivity, this phone has 5G, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, dual SIM support, and so on. As per Vivo, this phone is equipped with an ultra-thin VC cooling plate (12.5% thinner than traditional) and it covers a 30% larger cooling area as well.

Coming to pricing and availability, the Vivo S9 will go for the first sale on March 12 (Pre-orders are live now) at a price tag of ¥2999 (₹33,783) for the 8+128GB version and ¥3299 (₹37,163) for the 12+256GB version.

Vivo S9e

Vivo S9e runs OriginOS 1.0 based on Android 11 and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 820 chipset. Regarding the display, this phone offers a Samsung OLED display having a refresh rate of 90Hz, touch sampling rate of 180Hz, a TÜV Rheinland Eye Comfort Certification, an SGS Seamless certification, and the support for HDR10+.

The SoC of this phone is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage. Coming to the camera section, this phone offers a triple rear camera setup that includes a 64MP primary sensor (no OIS) along with an ultrawide angle camera (120°) and a 4CM macro camera. For selfies, this phone has a 32MP selfie snapper at the front. The Vivo S9e is fueled up by a 4,100mAH battery supported by 33W of fast charging.

Coming to pricing and availability, the Vivo S9e will go for the first sale on March 27 (Pre-orders from March 22) at a price tag of ¥2399 for the 8+128GB version and ¥2699 for the 8+256GB version.
