Honest Confessions About Career Setbacks

“The One” doesn’t shy away from difficult moments. Dhawan candidly discusses being dropped from India A for two years and a controversial incident during an Australia tour involving his British girlfriend Ellen. “I take full responsibility. I was young, met a girl at the airport, toured with her, and it had consequences,” he admitted.

These revelations offer aspiring cricketers lessons about professionalism and personal choices.

Beyond Cricket: Reimagining India’s Sports Future

The autobiography aligns with Dhawan’s off-field ventures. Da One Group focuses on structured athlete development and grassroots pathways, while the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation works on education and community impact.

“Sport and education together can create real opportunity,” stated Anshita Gupta, Group CEO of Da One Group. “Our focus is building long-term pathways rather than short-term outcomes.”
