In a candid December 6 Weverse livestream, BTS leader RM drew a definitive line on his responsibilities, earning massive support from ARMY worldwide. His heartfelt 30-minute broadcast addressed personal boundaries, individual growth, and the group’s future—all while dating rumors involving Jungkook and aespa’s Winter continued swirling online.
BTS RM’s Livestream Highlights: Key Takeaways
| Topic | What RM Said |
|---|---|
| Leadership Boundaries | “I can no longer represent our team on my own” |
| Member Independence | Each member has their own lifestyle, personality, boundaries |
| Fan Focus | “Stay focused just between you & us, ignore outside noise” |
| BTS Future | Full-group comeback planned for March 2026 |
| World Tour | Expected to launch May 2026 |
| Current Status | Daily practice sessions, new album in progress |
| Age Factor | All members now in their 30s, handling own situations |
“Each Member Has Their Own Life Now”
The 30-year-old leader’s message resonated deeply as he explained the evolution of his role within BTS. During their early years between 2017-2018, RM actively represented the entire group. However, as members matured into their thirties, that dynamic fundamentally shifted.
He emphasized that expecting him to control or manage individual members’ personal lives no longer applies. Each person has developed their own boundaries, lifestyles, and ways of living. This refreshing honesty acknowledged what fans already knew—BTS has grown from seven teenagers into seven independent men.
The Jungkook Situation: Context Matters
While RM never mentioned Jungkook by name, the timing of his broadcast was significant. Dating rumors linking the Golden Maknae to aespa’s Winter had intensified, fueled by alleged matching tattoos and social media speculation. Jungkook has also faced increased harassment, including deepfakes and stalking incidents.
RM’s statement about being aware of situations but unable to manage issues involving someone else’s life struck a chord. Fans interpreted this as both protection for Jungkook and a necessary boundary for RM himself. The leader cannot shoulder responsibility for each member’s personal choices—nor should he be expected to.
ARMY’s Overwhelming Support
Fans flooded social media with supportive messages after the broadcast. Many praised RM’s maturity in addressing the situation without sensationalism. Comments like “Say it louder Namjoon!” and “They’re grown men in their 30s” dominated Twitter discussions.
ARMY recognized the burden RM carries as leader while appreciating his clear communication about realistic limitations. His request for fans to ignore external noise and focus solely on BTS’s music and upcoming projects demonstrated his protective instincts for both the group and their fanbase.
The Reality of K-Pop Fame in 2025
RM’s livestream highlighted broader issues within K-pop culture. The expectation that leaders speak for every member’s personal life creates unrealistic pressure. As he noted, he’s “just one person” who cannot explain every behind-the-scenes detail or represent the entire team’s individual experiences.
His transparency about considering disbandment “ten or thousand times” shocked fans but also revealed the human side of global superstars. BTS continues because of genuine love and respect among members and for ARMY—not obligation.
What’s Next for BTS?
Despite challenges, RM shared exciting news about BTS’s future. The group practices daily and is working on new material. Their first full-group album since 2022 is scheduled for late March 2026, followed by a major world tour launching in May 2026.
RM urged fans to maintain good health and stay focused on this shared journey rather than getting distracted by rumors and speculation. His message was clear: the bond between BTS and ARMY remains sacred and deserves protection from external noise.
The Evolution of Leadership
RM’s approach reflects mature leadership in the modern entertainment landscape. He’s established that while he leads BTS musically and professionally, each member’s personal life belongs to them alone. This distinction is crucial for sustainable careers and mental health.
His statement “Love is something we learn by looking at each other” encapsulated his philosophy—authentic connection matters more than controlling narratives or managing every situation.
