Intel Rocket Lake processor line-up will be releasing several of its members in the upcoming months. It seems that some of the members are quite promising, especially for the gaming community. In an early review, the Intel Core i7 11700 (non-K) QS sample has been leaked out.
However, since a QS sample was used with non-final bios and microcode, the performance witnessed in the review could not be indicative of the final performance during the launch of the final version.
According to Cinebench R20, the Intel Core i7 11700 QS closes the gap on the RX 5800X by a very large amount with just 500 points behind. The AMD processor remains roughly 12% faster than the Core i7-10700.
In terms of gaming, the Core i7 11700 performs much better here and trades blows with the 5800X. it received mixed performance results, though we expect the performance to increase by a lot, let’s see the results.
Hitman 2
In the game’s performance, the 5800X takes the lead by quite a wide margin. According to the Unigine Superposition 1080p Extreme benchmark, the Core i7 11700 QS performs almost the same as a 5800X.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
The Intel Core i7 11700 QS takes the lead on GPU FPS but not on the CPU FPS. It is worth noting that in the case of Hitman 2, intel’s CPU failed to outperform due to GPU restrictions and in the Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the CPU overtakes AMD’s competitor in GPU scores.
Dirt 5
The Intel Core i7 11700 beats the Ryzen part by 5 frames.
According to the 3Dmark Timespy benchmark, the CPU score of the Intel part is slightly higher than the Ryzen 7 5800X.
Even if the above-mentioned benchmarks showcase the QS sample of 11700, final bios and revision might improve these numbers. All we can hope is that the Rocket Lake family keeps up the performance and doesn’t disappoint. The performance will be entirely different once the CPU hits the market. it can even be faster than AMD’s Ryzen 5800X.
