It has just been 2 months since the IPL 2020 final on 10th November where Mumbai Indians clinched their 5th IPL title, and here we are already talking about the 14th edition of IPL.

The IPL 2021 will be as per regular schedule, i.e. it will start in March-April like all the previous years. Before the commencement of the tournament, they will be having a mini-auction for the 8 franchises.

The IPL 2021 Player Auction is now underway in Chennai from 3 pm IST.

Bangladesh all-rounder who has previously played for Kolkata outfit KKR was up in the auction for a base price of INR 2 crores. Kolkata Knight Riders were interested in buying in from the very start but Punjab Kings were also interested and made a bid for him.

Finally, KKR purchased him for INR 3.20 crores. Shakib Al-Hasan will now play for the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2021.
