Hunting for Cooling Fans in ARC Raiders? You’re not alone! These rare Technological-category items are essential for completing your Expedition Project, yet their randomized spawns make them frustratingly elusive. Whether you’re a completionist or just trying to progress your character, this guide reveals the best farming locations and strategies to secure these valuable components efficiently.

What Are Cooling Fans Used For?

Cooling Fans serve two primary purposes in ARC Raiders:

Expedition Project completion (character progression requirement)
Recycling material (breaks down into 14 Plastic Parts + 4 Wires)

Despite being uncommon rarity, their importance in progression makes them highly sought-after loot.

Priority Target: Spaceport (Highest Density)

Spaceport contains the most Technological POIs on a single map, making it your best farming destination:

Location	Risk Level	Technological POIs
Spaceport	High	Control Tower A6, Departure Building, Arrival Building, North Trench Tower, South Trench Tower
Dam Battlegrounds	Medium	Research & Administration, Control Tower
Buried City	Medium	Space Travel, Research

Pro Farming Tips

1. Prioritize Spaceport Runs

With five Technological POIs, Spaceport offers the highest Cooling Fan spawn density. Plan efficient routes connecting multiple POIs before extracting.

2. Search Every Container

Cooling Fans hide in:

Cabinets (breach required)
Lockers (check thoroughly)
Storage containers
Tech equipment crates

3. Manage Threats Strategically

Take out Snitches first – These small ARCs alert larger threats to your position
Clear areas before looting – Reduces ambush risk while searching
Plan extraction routes – Know your exit before committing to high-value POIs

4. Optimize Your Route

Chain POIs together for maximum efficiency:

Spaceport: Control Tower A6 → Departure Building → Arrival Building
Dam Battlegrounds: Research & Administration → Control Tower

5. Stock for Future Use

Even if you don’t need Cooling Fans immediately, grab them! The recycling value (14 Plastic Parts + 4 Wires) makes them worth collecting for future crafting projects.

Resource	Recycling Output
1 Cooling Fan	• 14 Plastic Parts<br>• 4 Wires

These materials fuel various crafting recipes, making Cooling Fans valuable even beyond Expedition Projects.

Why Cooling Fans Are So Rare

Unlike common loot, Cooling Fans spawn exclusively in Technological-tagged POIs with randomized spawn tables. You’ll likely need multiple raids to gather sufficient quantities—patience and persistence are key!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Cooling Fans be purchased from vendors in ARC Raiders?

Currently, Cooling Fans cannot be purchased from any vendors in Speranza (the game’s hub area). They’re exclusively found as ground loot in Technological-category POIs during raids. This makes them one of the more frustrating resources to farm since you’re entirely dependent on RNG spawn rates. Focus on thoroughly searching high-density areas like Spaceport’s five Technological POIs to maximize your chances.

What’s the fastest way to farm Cooling Fans in ARC Raiders?

The most efficient method is running repeated Spaceport raids focusing exclusively on Technological POIs. Drop into Control Tower A6, quickly loot Departure and Arrival Buildings, then extract. This focused route minimizes time spent while maximizing Cooling Fan encounters. Use Turbo mode if available for faster matches, and always breach every cabinet and locker—Cooling Fans often hide in containers other players overlook. Team up with squadmates to cover more ground simultaneously and share discoveries.
