What Makes Marvel 1943 Special?
The game is inspired by the 2010 Marvel Comics limited series Captain America/Black Panther: Flags of Our Fathers and features an ensemble cast including Khary Payton (The Walking Dead) as Azzuri and Drew Moerlein as Steve Rogers. Players will experience an uneasy alliance between American super soldier Captain America and Wakanda’s king as they battle Hydra’s rise.
The official Marvel website provides more background on these iconic characters and their rich histories.
Development Timeline
The game was first announced in October 2021 as Skydance New Media’s debut project. After a D23 Expo teaser in September 2022, the full reveal at GDC 2024 showcased impressive Unreal Engine 5 graphics. The first delay moved the release from 2025 to early 2026 in May, citing the need for additional polish.
