Kangaskhan has always been a fan-favorite since Generation 1, and in Pokemon Legends Z-A, this maternal powerhouse continues to dominate with the right strategy. Whether you’re exploring Lumiose City or battling legendary Pokemon, building the perfect Kangaskhan can give you a serious competitive edge.

Why Kangaskhan Remains a Top-Tier Choice

This Normal-type Pokemon brings impressive bulk, solid Attack stats, and surprising versatility to your team. While it can’t match special attackers, its physical prowess and defensive resilience make it a reliable frontline fighter that can absorb hits and dish out devastating damage.

Pokemon Legends Kangaskhan Moveset for Maximum Impact

Move	Type	Power	How to Obtain	Purpose
Double-Edge	Normal	High	TM056 (Bleu Sector 3)	Primary STAB attack
Giga Impact	Normal	Massive	Mable Research Lvl 35	Game-ending finisher
Power-Up Punch	Fighting	Moderate	TM018 (Wild Zone 9)	Attack boost stacking
Shadow Claw	Ghost	Good	Mable Research Lvl 7	Ghost-type coverage

Strategic Move Breakdown

Double-Edge forms your bread-and-butter attack despite the recoil. Kangaskhan’s natural bulk means it can afford the HP trade-off while delivering consistent STAB damage that wears down opponents quickly.

Giga Impact serves as your nuclear option—perfect for finishing weakened foes or breaking through defensive walls. Yes, the recharge turn is a drawback, but the sheer damage output justifies saving it for critical moments.

Power-Up Punch transforms Kangaskhan into a snowballing threat. Each successful hit increases Attack, allowing you to steamroll through defensive teams. This move shines in longer battles where you can set up properly.

Shadow Claw solves Kangaskhan’s biggest weakness—Ghost-types that completely wall Normal moves. This critical coverage move ensures you’re never completely helpless against spectral opponents. Need more team-building tips? Check our Pokemon Legends Z-A team composition guide.

Best Nature: Adamant All the Way

Adamant nature (+Attack, -Special Attack) is non-negotiable for Kangaskhan. Since you’re running a purely physical moveset, dumping Special Attack for increased Attack power is a no-brainer. Grab an Adamant Mint from Rouge Sector 1 to optimize your build instantly.

FAQs

Is Mega Evolution worth it for Kangaskhan in Legends Z-A?

Absolutely! Even without Parental Bond, Mega Kangaskhan’s stat increases transform it into a bulkier, faster powerhouse. The 30-point Attack boost alone makes the 70,000 Poke Dollar investment worthwhile, especially for competitive battles and challenging raid encounters.

Can Kangaskhan work as a tank or is it purely offensive?

Kangaskhan excels as a bruiser—combining offense with durability. With 105 HP and 80 in both defenses, it can absorb moderate hits while dealing consistent damage. Use Double-Edge for offensive pressure and rely on its natural bulk to outlast opponents in wars of attrition.
