Samsung India has unveiled breakthrough features for Samsung Wallet that redefine digital payments in India. UPI Onboarding During Device Setup
Samsung becomes the first smartphone manufacturer to enable UPI account onboarding through Samsung Wallet as part of the new-device setup experience. Galaxy users can now be payment-ready from the moment they power on their smartphone—eliminating friction and catalyzing rapid UPI adoption across India’s digital payments ecosystem.
This seamless integration ensures users transition from out-of-box to pay-ready in minutes, removing traditional barriers that slow UPI registration.
PIN-Free Biometric Payments
Samsung Wallet now supports biometric verification—device fingerprint and facial recognition—eliminating PIN entry for everyday use. Users can access the app and complete UPI payments using just their Galaxy device’s biometric sensors.
Madhur Chaturvedi, Senior Director at Samsung India, explains: “Samsung Wallet is no longer just a digital wallet, it has become a universal and secure gateway for digital payments, travel essentials, identity cards, and digital keys.”
This upgrade streamlines access while enhancing security, making secure payments as effortless as unlocking your phone.
Online Card Payments & FOREX Support
Samsung Wallet will soon support direct online usage of stored credit and debit cards across key merchants. Users can pay for goods and services online using safely tokenized cards—no manual card details entry required, making checkout faster and more secure.
For international travelers, FOREX card support powered by WSFx Global Pay Limited enables seamless global transactions via Tap & Pay. Additionally, Samsung has onboarded AU Bank cards, expanding its network of banking partners.
