Cyberpunk 2077 has had a horrible launch and it’s no surprise that the game, despite all it brings sucks. The studio behind the game has already apologized several times and has released three major updates after the game’s launch.

In a video released by the co-founder Marcin Iwinski, he issued a mea culpa to players, adding that he and the board members are “the final decision-makers” for the game’s faulty release. “Please, don’t fault any of our teams for what happened,” Iwinski said.

The game was one of the most anticipated titles of the decade and when it launched on December 10th, 2020 it was praised by critics. But the console players ran into widespread bugs, frame rate issues, and more.

The game had so many bugs that Sony even pulled the title from its PlayStation 5 stores a week after the game’s release and began offering refunds for the game. In the five-minute video Iwinski said that “despite good reviews on PC, the console version of Cyberpunk 2077 did not meet the quality standard we wanted it to meet. I and the entire leadership team are deeply sorry for this. We believed we would deliver in the final days. More difficult for ourselves by first wanting to make the game look epic on PCs and then adjusting it to consoles — especially old-gens. That was our core assumption. And things did not look super difficult at first, while we knew the hardware gap, ultimately, the time has proven that we’ve underestimated the task.”

The studio looks committed to fixing the bugs in the game and it seems that the DLC’s which will be released for the game in the future updates will come with bug-fixes.

“working on fixes and updates, and are working with Sony to bring Cyberpunk 2077 back to PlayStation Store as soon as possible.”
