Samsung‘s chipset comeback story gains momentum! The company is preparing mass production of its Exynos 2600 processor for Galaxy S26 series, signaling that previous yield problems have been resolved and the 2nm GAA technology is finally ready for prime time.

Exynos 2600: Breaking Qualcomm’s Exclusivity
This development could end Qualcomm’s recent dominance in Samsung’s flagship smartphones. The Galaxy S26 family will likely feature mixed configurations with both Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Exynos 2600 variants depending on regional markets, marking Samsung’s return to dual-chipset strategy.
Samsung Exynos 2600 Key Features
| Specification | Details |
|---|---|
| Process Node | 2nm GAA (Gate-All-Around) |
| Previous Yield | ~30% (earlier reports) |
| Heat Management | Heat Pass Block (HPB) technology |
| Target Device | Galaxy S26 series |
| Launch Timeline | Early 2026 |
Yield Problems Reportedly Resolved
Earlier reports indicated Samsung’s 2nm GAA process achieved only 30% yield rates – problematic for mass production. The preparation for full-scale Exynos 2600 manufacturing suggests these yield issues have been significantly improved, though specific current yield figures remain undisclosed.
Competitive Performance Against TSMC
Recent Geekbench 6 leaks show Exynos 2600 scores rivaling underclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 performance. This indicates Samsung’s 2nm GAA technology could genuinely compete with TSMC’s 2nm process, which enters mass production in Q4 2025.
Heat Pass Block Technology Integration
Samsung addresses historical Exynos overheating concerns through Heat Pass Block (HPB) technology. This thermal management solution aims to maintain optimal performance levels without the throttling issues that plagued previous Exynos generations.
Restoring Customer Confidence
Beyond technical achievements, Samsung faces the challenge of rebuilding customer trust after previous Exynos disappointments. Success with the Exynos 2600 could restore Samsung’s foundry reputation and reduce dependence on external chipset suppliers.
The mass production preparation represents a critical milestone for Samsung’s semiconductor ambitions, potentially reshaping the competitive landscape between Samsung’s foundry and TSMC’s manufacturing dominance.
However, these reports should be viewed cautiously given the source’s mixed track record on Samsung foundry developments.
