AMD is all set to launch its new Zen 3 based Ryzen 5000 APUs at CES 2021. Now, if you thought it would only be for mobile then you are wrong as even a desktop Ryzen 7 5700G has also been spotted recently.
So, Videocardz has got their hands-on with the official Zen 3 die render for these new Ryzen 5000 APUs. Also, they confirm that these new APUs will have the same number of compute and graphic cores as their successful Renoir predecessors.
Also, there will be no change in the number of PCIe lanes and the full chip supporting up to 20 lanes. It is unclear whether Cezanne will support PCIe Gen4 because that would have made a difference in number of lanes.
If we see both Renoir and Cezanne APUs side by side, we see a major difference in terms of size as the Cezanne looks to be 10% bigger. Videocardz estimates the new die’s size to be 175 mm², around 20 mm² more than Renoir.
This is because of the new Zen 3 core design along with a new cache architecture accompanied with 16MB L3 cache. We are now just days apart from the announcement of these new Ryzen 5000 APUs at CES, and we hope Dr Lisa Su will answer the world with new and exciting products.
