The Pulsar range plays a pivotal role, constituting over 50% of Bajaj Auto’s total two-wheeler sales, standing as the second bestseller globally after Boxer. In response to shifting market dynamics and consumer preferences, Bajaj consistently introduces updates and new products. A glimpse of the upcoming enhancements to the Pulsar N150 and N160 has been teased.
The Upcoming 2024 Bajaj Pulsar N150 and N160
The 150cc to 200cc motorcycle segment is witnessing substantial growth as more riders opt for performance-oriented bikes. In November, Bajaj dominated this segment with Pulsar commanding a market share of 28.37%. To further boost sales, Bajaj plans to unveil upgraded versions of the Pulsar N150 and N160. Despite their existing sporty profiles and robust performance, introducing new features aims to enhance the overall user experience. For the Bajaj Pulsar N150, potential upgrades may include the addition of rear disc brakes, providing users with increased confidence in their machines.
Another possibility is introducing a split-seat option, offering a sportier alternative to the current single-piece saddle. As for the Bajaj Pulsar N160, there is anticipation for USD front forks, an enhancement over the current telescopic front forks, and a mono-shock unit at the rear. Both models may see the introduction of new color options and graphics to refresh their aesthetics. The Pulsar N150 is currently available in Pearl Metallic White and Ebony Black, while the Pulsar N160 offers Brooklyn Black, Racing Red, and Caribbean Blue choices.
The inclusion of new Bluetooth-based connectivity features and an updated digital instrument cluster is also under consideration for the N150 and N160. In terms of performance, the engine options are expected to remain the same, with the N150 featuring a 149.68 cc engine producing 14.5 PS of power and 13.5 Nm of torque, while the N160 boasts a 164.82 cc engine generating 16 PS and 14.65 Nm. Whether the engines undergo slight enhancements for improved performance remains to be seen.
Other components such as wheels and tires are likely to stay consistent, but there could be new color treatments for the wheels in alignment with the respective color variants. With these anticipated updates, pricing adjustments may occur. Currently, the Bajaj Pulsar N150 is priced starting at ₹1.18 lakh, while the N160 starts at ₹1.30 lakh.
