Along with the Radeon RX 7900 XT and Radeon RX 7900 XTX announcements for December 13, AMD also revealed that a new version of its scaling technology would be released in the first half of 2023.

By enhancing performance when games are played at extremely demanding settings, FSR 3 will combine AMD’s super-resolution technology with the new Fluid Motion Frame technology to deliver more frames per second (such as 4K). One of the first devices to include FSR 3 functionality is AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 XTX and Radeon RX 7900 XT “RDNA 3” graphics cards.

AMD’s FSR 3 will provide up to twice the performance improvement over FSR 2 in 4K resolution. Unreal Engine 5 was demonstrated by AMD, and it exhibited a leap in FPS from 60 (FSR 2) to 112 (FSR 3). The modes and the operation of Fluid Motion Frame technology are still unknown, but Red camp is anticipated to provide additional information in the upcoming weeks.

The short film Beckoning, which Sava Zivkovic and his crew were able to produce with FSR 3 in just four months, was also demonstrated by AMD. The demo utilized Unreal Engine 5 and displayed fantastic visuals.

Furthermore, AMD is releasing a substantial upgrade to their drivers that includes HYPER-RX technology, a function that will reduce latency and increase game performance with only one click.

AMD asserts that its products perform up to 85% better and have a third less latency than competing products in games like Dying Light 2. HYPER-RX seems to be a rival to the combined NVIDIA Reflex and DLSS technology.
