Samsung intends to adopt a new type of battery production process that is often used by electric car manufacturers. Samsung will be able to produce batteries that take up less space and provide more power thanks to the new technology. While the company will test and improve it, it is possible that other smartphone manufacturers, such as Apple, would adapt it for their devices.

Samsung SDI, the company’s battery and energy section, according to a new report from The Elec, is trying to leverage an EV battery production technology to manufacture energy-dense batteries for smartphones and tablets. The jellyroll method is now used to manufacture smartphone batteries, and the business is working to implement the EV method.

According to Elec, the South Korean tech giant may be seeking to acquire orders from Apple in the future. This isn’t a new strategy for Samsung, since the company’s SDI subsidiary already provides batteries for Apple’s iPad and MacBook models. Apple, on the other hand, has never used Samsung batteries in the iPhone.

It’s unclear whether Samsung will supply Apple with iPhone batteries. Furthermore, there is no news on when the new energy-dense batteries will be available. As soon as further information becomes available, we will update you on the situation.
