Dell’s Upcoming Precision 7000 Laptops To Feature Intel Alder Lake-HX CPUs and ARC Alchemist GPU

Dell is preparing its new Precision 7000 series workstation laptops, which will use Intel’s Alder Lake-HX CPUs, Pro GPUs in both Intel Arc and NVIDIA’s RTX flavours, and a fresh new modular design. Integrated GPU Extremist (@Emerald x86) has the newest leaks on Dell’s Precision 7000 series laptop lineup.

An internal Dell specs sheet, obtained by the leaker, lists the upcoming Dell Precision 7770 and Precision 7760 high-end workstation laptops. The transition from 8-core Intel Comet Lake processors to the latest 16-core Alder Lake-HX CPUs is one of the planned upgrades in the new lineup.

The Intel Alder Lake-HX CPUs are listed in an officially leaked specs sheet for the first time, rather than in internet benchmark databases. The new parts will use the same die as the desktop parts, with up to eight P-cores and eight E-cores for a total of 16 cores and 24 threads. The Precision laptops are stated to have 55W Core i9 and Core i7 processors, while the second specs sheet also specifies 55W Core i5 processors.

In terms of graphics, the Dell Precision 7000 series will be available with both NVIDIA and Intel options. There are numerous RTX choices up to the RTX A5000 16 GB, as well as Intel’s Arc mobility workstation graphics, which have a claimed TDP of 125-90 Watts. Given that the TDP is the same as the Arc A730M and A770M graphics, it’s reasonable to infer that we’re looking at a variant of Intel’s top ACM-G10 GPU.

Other features include up to quad M and up to 128 GB of non-ECC and 64 GB of ECC DDR5-4800 memory. 2 2280 slots offer the newest PCIe Gen 4×4 interface with up to 16 TB of RAID storage capacity, Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, and up to a 16:10 4K (HDR500) OLED display with narrow bezels and a brightness of 500 nits. A vapour chamber cooling system with two exhaust fans will be built within the interior chassis. CAMM (Compression Attached Memory Module) and DGFF (Digital Graphics File Format) are two further capabilities included in Dell’s Precision 7000 computers (Dell Graphics Form Factor).

CAMM stands for Dell’s proprietary memory module form factor for DDR5 4800 MHz kits. In essence, the CAMM module may replace two SODIMM modules. Not only will this free up space for additional components, but it may also force people to buy their product rather than a manufacturer’s ideas. Users would only be able to upgrade their memory DIMMs if they were excluded from Dell. The graphics chip will also be available in the new DGFF (Dell Graphics Form Factor), but no further specifics are available at this time.

The release date for the two most recent Dell workstation systems is still unknown. Intel has hinted that ARC-based workstation GPUs could be released in the third quarter of 2022, thus Dell would benefit from releasing their products around the same time. As a result, Dell may reveal these systems during Computex 2022.
