Well, Chrome fans will be really excited to see this heading because indeed Google Chrome is said to have defeated Apple’s Safari browser on the Speedometer benchmark which essentially evaluates the responsiveness of a browser.

Google has recently announced that they have made updates to the Chrome browser to improve performance on Apple’s Macs. So, in the benchmark, Google Chrome earned a score of over 300 to beat Safari.

In a post on the Chromium blog, Google stated about the technological improvements it has made in the past few months to make technological improvements. As we know the M99 release of the browser is the latest has “substantially” been able to increase browser speeds across all major platforms.

Building on many performance changes over the last year, we enabled ThinLTO in M99, a build optimization technique that prioritizes code focused on browser speed. The result? An additional across-the-board speed bump makes Chrome 7 percent faster than Safari.

Combined with recent graphics optimizations (namely, pass-through decoder and out-of-process rasterization), Google has been able to make Chrome’s graphics performance to be 15% faster than Safari. It says since launching Chrome on M1-based Macs in late 2020, Chrome is now 43% faster than it was just 17 months ago.

Google also stated that it will continue to invest in bringing new innovative features into Chrome to push the performance.
