Jurgen Klopp is among the most passionate and successful managers in world football in recent years. The German has established himself as a legend at Liverpool, helping them win the Premier League, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup trophies.

His ‘heavy metal’ approach to football has earned a lot of praise for its effectiveness, especially with Liverpool. And in this article, we take a look at the top five highest scoring players under Klopp.

Top 5 highest goalscorers under Jurgen Klopp

5. Michael Thurk – 59 goals

Michael Thurk played under Klopp at Mainz in the 2000s, and scored goals in the second division, as well as the first. He scored 13 goals to help the club achieve promotion in 2003/04 and is the first player to score over 50 goals under the manager.

4. Roberto Firmino – 95 goals

The Brazilian might not be the archetype number 9, but his importance in the line-up is unrivalled. Firmino’s role in the team is perfectly summed up by Klopp: “He is a connector; the best offensive defender I ever saw in my life. A very important player for us. He’s a ball-chaser, incredibly smart tactically and able to play in the tiniest spaces, make good decisions in really quick time.”

3. Robert Lewandowski – 103 goals

The two worked together at Borussia Dortmund, where Lewandowski made a name for himself. The Polish striker is arguably the best in the world right now, and has thanked Jurgen Klopp for his development into a world-class forward at Dortmund.

2. Sadio Mane – 108 goals

Since joining Liverpool in 2016, Mane has gone on to become one of the best wingers in the world. The Senegal international became the most recent player to hit the 100-goal mark for Jurgen Klopp, and has provided 44 assists during that time as well.

1. Mohamed Salah – 150 goals

It comes as no surprise that the Egyptian is at the top of the list – especially based on current form. He has become the second quickest player to score 150 goals at Liverpool, and is one of Jurgen Klopp’s best achievements during his time at Anfield.
