Despite Bruno Lage wanting to keep the player until the end of the season, he has had to let go, with Traore returning to his former academy club seven years after leaving to join Aston Villa.

Traore becomes the third major signing for Barcelona in the winter transfer window, after the registration of Dani Alves and the arrival of Ferran Torres from Manchester City. Following the departure of Philippe Coutinho, Barcelona have freed up enough of their wage bill to be able to afford Adama Traore, and keep him until the end of the season.

Wolves have signed Chiquinho, and are expecting the return of Pedro Neto in the coming weeks, to replace the winger in the first team.
