Barcelona complete shock move for Adama Traore: loan deal with €30m buy option

Barcelona and Wolves have reached an agreement for the transfer of Adama Traore on a loan deal with the option to buy. It is not mandatory for the Spanish club to activate the buy option, which is priced at €30 million.

Adama Traore has signed on a loan deal until June, and Barcelona will cover 100% of his salary until the end of the season. The transfer has been given the here we go signal by Fabrizio Romano, which means that it is only a matter of time before the deal is made official by both clubs.

Barcelona swoop in and complete shock move for Adama Traore

Tottenham Hotspur were the ones who had the strongest interest in the Spaniard, but his former club has gone in and completed the agreement without any delays.

Despite Bruno Lage wanting to keep the player until the end of the season, he has had to let go, with Traore returning to his former academy club seven years after leaving to join Aston Villa

Traore becomes the third major signing for Barcelona in the winter transfer window, after the registration of Dani Alves and the arrival of Ferran Torres from Manchester City. Following the departure of Philippe Coutinho, Barcelona have freed up enough of their wage bill to be able to afford Adama Traore, and keep him until the end of the season.

Wolves have signed Chiquinho, and are expecting the return of Pedro Neto in the coming weeks, to replace the winger in the first team.
