Ajax not inquiring about Christian Eriksen

Christian Eriksen’s agent has confirmed that he will be able to continue playing football. The midfielder was released by Inter Milan yesterday, after being banned by the Italian FA due to his heart condition.

The player has not made a single appearance so far this season, since is legally not allowed to play in Italy anymore. As a result, he is looking for other clubs in countries where he will be allowed to play despite having a defibrillator installed.

One of the rumoured clubs to be interested in him was his former club Ajax. The rules in the Netherlands allow players with heart problems to feature for clubs. One of the players already availing this benefit is Daley Blind, who has also returned to the Netherlands national team.

But, despite a return to Eredivisie being an option for Christian Eriksen, Ajax have not yet made an inquiry for their former player.

What happened with Christian Eriksen?

The Danish midfielder joined Inter Milan in December 2021 and has made 60 appearances for the Nerazzurri. He has scored 8 goals and provided 3 assists across all competitions, and was a part of the squad that lifted the Scudetto this past season.

He collapsed while playing for Denmark in their first Euro match against Finland, and suffered a heart attack on the pitch. Eriksen had to be hospitalised immediately but was released a few days after. He has since been sidelined, but has been training alone to keep himself fit.
