Although they are currently in a difficult place, Barcelona are one of the biggest clubs in the world. And over the years, they have had several iconic players don the Blaugrana colours. According to Onefootball, here is the lineup of the best Barcelona players in the history of the club.

GK: Andoni Zubizarreta

In 8 seasons with Barcelona, Zubizarreta played 410 games and kept the most clean sheets in the history of the league with 235. During his time, he won four league titles with the club.

RB: Dani Alves

Dani Alves’ first spell at Barcelona saw him earn a place amongst the greatest right-backs of all time. And now, he has returned to the club to help them with their new chapter.

CB: Carles Puyol

Carles Puyol might not have had the best physical stature of all the central defenders in the world, but he gave it his all whenever he was on the pitch. Puyol made 682 appearances for the club and won 18 titles, finishing as the captain.

CB: Ronald Koeman

FC Barcelona legend, Ronald Koeman officially announced as next Barça coach

As a player, Ronald Koeman was one of the best central defenders of his time. He scored an outstanding 88 goals in 264 games for them, which is a record that most forwards are not able to deliver.

The current manager of the club is etched in Barcelona history as one of its greatest ever midfielders. The player used to dictate the tempo whenever he stepped onto the field, and played 767 times for Barcelona.

AM: Johan Cruyff

Johan Cruyff is THE man that completely changed football. The Dutchman is respected as one of the best footballing minds to have ever played the sport, and he featured for Barcelona 180 times during his career, netting 60 goals.

LW: Ronaldinho

During his playing days, watching Ronaldinho with the ball at his feet was quite simply, magic. The Brazilian didn’t have the longest spell at Barcelona, but was unplayable when he was one-on-one with a defender.

RW: Lionel Messi

Messi recently won his seventh Ballon d’Or, as predicted by the legendary Johan Cruyff. The Argentinian is, in the books of many, the greatest to ever lace up a pair of boots, and was the easiest pick in the list.

ST: László Kubala

Kubala completes the lineup by leading the front three, scoring 194 times between 1650 and 1961. He holds the record for the most goals scored by a Barcelona player in a single league game, with 7 against Sporting de Gijón in 1952.
