ASUS has now officially announced the release schedule for its Android 12 update on select Zenfone and ROG Phone models.

Android 12 is the twelfth major release and 19th version of Android, the mobile operating system developed by the Open Handset Alliance led by Google. The first beta was released on May 18, 2021.

From December 2021 – ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Flip

From H1 2022 – ZenFone 7

From Q1 2022 – ROG Phone 5/5S

From H1 2022 – ROG Phone 3

According to GSMArena, in a press note sent to the media, ASUS said that the stable update “inherits the major functional changes introduced in the official version of Android 12” while also including Asus’ battery and performance management features.

Additionally, the Android 12 stable build for the Zenfone series will come with ZenUI-specific features, providing “easier navigation, streamlined control panels, increased visibility for better control and more customization options.”
