Honor Band 6 launched with 1.47-inch full-screen AMOLED display

Huawei had an exciting run-up this year. With being banned by the US government for user data security, not to purchase semiconductor chipsets manufactured using US technology. However, the company is slowly inching towards success as most of its suppliers and partners obtain a US administration license to continue their business with the Chinese tech giant.

The company subdivision Honor has launched a new smart wearable device called the Honor Band 6. The company has dubbed the smart band as the world’s first fitness tracker with a full-screen display. The smart band has been launched in two variants, one with NFC and one without it.

The wearable follows the of the famous Honor Watch ES. The Honor Band 6 sports a 1.47-inch AMOLED display and supports up to 194×368 pixel resolution. The show comes protected by a 2.5D glass.

The company has not offered any capacitative button for the device. It relies entirely on gestures for navigation through its UI. However, the wearable has one red-accented physical button on the right that can wake up the screen. The wearable is launched in three color variants the Meteorite Black, Seagull Grey, and Coral Powder. But the color variants are only available for straps and not for the main body. The main body, however, will only come in black.

The device has Bluetooth 5.0 for connectivity. The wearable also offers an accelerometer, gyroscope, optical heart rate sensor, and a 180mAh battery. The company states that the device is water-resistant up to 5ATM, and also it can charge via a magnetic charger.

Honor Band 6 comes with up to 10 sports mode support. It can also perform blood oxygen level monitoring and is equipped with HUAWEI TruSeen 4.0. Along with 24-hour heart-rate tracking, it also has HUAWEI TruSleep sleep monitoring and menstrual cycle monitoring. Honor also promises that the band will last up to 14-day battery life on a full charge. The NFC version of the wearable supports contactless payments along with voice assistant.

The Honor Band 6 is currently available only in China and is being sold in two different variants. The first one is selling for 249 Yuan while the other one is being sold for 289 Yuan. The company has not revealed any plans to launch its new wearable in the global market. But sources claim that it may soon be available in the market in the coming weeks.
