Intel has revealed its latest 11th generation Tiger Lake line-up this year; along with it; the company also revealed its new Intel Iris Xe graphics GPU. Earlier, we discussed Intel’s Rocket Lake CPU and its official launch in the first quarter of 2021.

This time a leak provided by the leaker Videocardz has provided us with some pictures of Intel’s upcoming Alder Lake desktop-grade CPUs.

The Alder Lake lineup will be released in the second half of 2021, and it will be the first desktop CPU from Intel to feature the sub 14nm process node, the 10nm SuperFin, or simply the 10nm++.

According to sources, the Alder Lake will be the first CPUs that will feature the 10nm process and will come with a new design methodology. The alder lake CPU will come with high-performance Cove cores and smaller efficient Atom cores.

As of now, it is only an assumption that the Alder Lake CPUs will come with Golden Cove and Gracement architectures in 2021. But if intel decides it can also go along with Willow Cove and Tracemont cores for the architecture of its Alder Lake CPU.

Some of the features that are to be expected from intel’s 2021 architecture line-up are given below:

Intel Golden Cove (Core) Architecture:

  • Improve Single-Threaded Performance (IPC)
  • Improve Artificial Intelligence (AI) Performance
  • Improve Network/5G Performance
  • Enhanced Security Features

Intel Gracemont (Atom) Architecture:

  • Improve Single-Threaded Performance (IPC)
  • Improve Frequency (Clock Speeds)
  • Improve Vector Performance

The LGA 1700 platform to come with the Alder Lake will offer support for the latest DDR5 memory. Not to mention, the new CPU will also support the latest PCIe 5.0 along with Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi. The upcoming specs and architecture of the new Alder Lake CPU line-up look certainly interesting. Especially the inclusion of the support for the new DDR5 and PCIe gen 5.0.
