Microsoft has reportedly been working on a new surface laptop. The new surface laptop is rumored to be a budget version release.

According to Winfuture, the new surface laptop will run on Core i5 1035G1. then quad-core processor belongs to Intel’s old Ice Lake-U generation family. The processor also comes with 8 threads, 6MB of L3 cache, and four sunny clove cores. This chipset is also based on the 10nm process.

The surface laptop has made an appearance on the Geekbench benchmarking website. This has revealed a lot of details about the upcoming laptop.

It is revealed that the new surface laptop will be available in both 8GB of RAM and 16GB of RAM. The laptop is said to come in 8GB with 128/256 GB storage variants as well as 16GB with a 256GB SSD model.

Microsoft is also said to release a base model of 4GB, as it has always done with may of its products. However, the models with 8GB and 16GB models will reportedly by costlier than the 4GB variant.

The surface GO comes with a 10-inch display. It also comes featured with 8GB of RAM, up to 128GB storage, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 8-megapixel rear camera, and comes with Intel Pentium Gold Processor 4415Y.

This will be the first time Microsoft will release any model with Intel’s 10th gen Core i5 1035G1 processor. But it is quite surprising to see Intel opting for Ice Lake instead of the new and promising Tiger Lake CPUs with Intel Xe graphics, maybe to cut down the prices.

The appearance of the new Surface laptop on the Geekbench benchmarking website has given away a lot of information. However, any other information such as the Wifi module, battery capacity and type, and other valuable information is not determined. Speculations have come up that if the new Surface model sporting a 10th gen processor has to be budget-oriented than Microsoft has to make some sacrifices in other departments.

Microsoft Surface models have always been performance-oriented laptops and are best suited for professional office workers. A budget-oriented laptop of this series is sure to improve the sales market of the market.

Whether the new surface model will appeal to the buyers, only can be determined after the complete spec reveals the product.
