Samsung launches Galaxy Book Flex 5G; First Samsung laptop under Intel Evo platform

Intel recently announced a big rebranding and a new lineup of SoC’s Tiger Lake which is the company’s first chipset lineup to support 5G and it will be powering Samsung’s Galaxy Book Flex 5G which will be equipped with the Intel Evo platform.

The Galaxy Book Flex 5G comes in two models one running on Core i5 and the second one on Core i7 from the new Tiger Lake lineup coupled with a maximum of 16GB of RAM and 512GB of maximum SSD storage.

The laptop features a 13.3-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and has a 13-megapixel world-facing camera and a 720p front-facing camera along with a built-in S Pen, and backlit keyboard. The whole package is backed up by a 69.7Wh battery. The new lineup of chipsets gives the Galaxy Book Flex support for 5G connectivity along with. WIFI 6. The laptop weighs 1.26Kgs and comes in a single “royal silver” finish.

The Samsung Galaxy Book Flex 5G comes under the Intel’s Evo platform which has required laptops to be powered by an 11th-Gen Intel Core i5 or Core i7 mobile processors with Intel Iris Xe graphics, “remarkable responsiveness, battery life, connectivity, audio, displays, and thin and light designs,” according to Intel’s Evo Platform webpage.

The Flexy 5G has wake from sleep feature that takes less than a second to light up the display and it supports fast charging as well as Intel’s new Thunderbolt 4 standard. The laptop will be able to run for about nine or more hours under a real-world scenario which includes the usual stuff such as web browsing, video playback, and other day-to-day tasks as well.

This whole package looks fantastic for sure but there’s no information regarding the pricing which would be the main factor and also the availability which is not known for now.
