The largest cricket stadium is the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium or commonly known as the Motera stadium. It is situated in Ahmedabad, Gujrat in India. This is an unknown fact for many as this stadium isn’t as famous as the MCG, Lords, Wankhede or Eden Gardens. Moreover, it got its tag of being the largest cricket stadium in the world as recently as in February 2020. It has a capacity of 110,000 people while MCG has 102,000 capacity.

After building the largest cricket stadium in the world, the Indian cricket administrators are once again planning to construct another very big cricket stadium. If everything goes as per plan, one of the world’s largest cricket stadiums will soon come up on the outskirts of Rajasthan’s capital Jaipur. It will have a seating capacity of 75,000 and will cost as much as Rs 350 crores.

According to a report by InsideSport, Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) secretary Mahendra Sharma has stated that the stadium would spread over 100 acres. He also confirmed that the land has been finalised in Chonp village which is at a distance from Jaipur on the Jaipur-Delhi highway. He also clarified that the construction of the stadium is expected to begin in the next four months.

The construction of the stadium was approved unanimously at a board meeting held under the guidance of RCA president Vaibhav Gehlot. The new stadium will have indoor games facilities, sports training academies, a club-house and a parking capacity of almost 4000 vehicles.
