Microsoft Surface Go 2 with PixelSense display & Intel CPUs launched at $399

After a lot of rumours and leaks finally, the much anticipated Microsoft Surface Go 2 makes its way to the public. Surprisingly, as per the assumptions from our previous articles, Microsoft has gone with two variants this time.

The company has also launched the Surface Book 3 and Surface Headphones 2. Microsoft has upgraded the new Surface Go totally in terms of both hardware and design front.

  • Internal storage: 64GB eMMC / 128GB SSD

  • I/O & Ports: 1 x USB Type-C, 1 x Surface Connect, Surface Type Cover Port, MicroSDXC card reader, and 3.5mm headphone jack

As we guessed in the leaks, the Surface Go 2 comes with a bigger 10.5-inch PixelSense display with 10-point multi-touch support and with a 3:2 aspect ratio. To keep the costs low and to keep the availability for a wider audience, Microsoft has made two variants, one powered by the Pentium Gold 4425Y processor and the other by the Intel Core m3-8100Y processor.

The base model with the Pentium CPU comes with a cheaper 64 GB of eMMC flash storage and 4 GB of RAM. Obviously, if you require more performance you can opt-in for the Intel Core m3-8100Y powered variant that can be configured with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of SSD storage.

The Core m3-8100Y model promises to give 64% faster performance than the original Surface Go, according to Microsoft. For the camera, we have an 8MP rear camera which is able to record 1080p FULL HD videos and a 5MP front camera as well. The Surface Go 2 also promises to offer you up to 10 hours of battery life on a single charge.

Introducing Microsoft Surface Go 2

The Surface Go 2 comes included with the Surface Pen and you can buy the other accessories separately like Type Covers, Sleeves with colour options like Platinum, Black, Poppy Red, and Ice Blue. Also, the existing Surface Go Type Covers are compatible with the new model as well.

Price & Availability:

The Microsoft Surface Go 2 will be available in market from May 12th, 2020 in certain markets with these configurations:

  • Core m3-8100Y + 8GB + 128GB + LTE – $729 (approx Rs. 55,400)
  • Core m3-8100Y + 8GB + 256GB + LTE – $879 (approx Rs. 66,800)

The Surface Go 2 Type Covers have a starting price of $99. Currently, Microsoft has not yet declared the official Indian pricing or availability, but soon it will land in India.
