ZTE has launched the ZTE Axon 40 Series in China yesterday as per schedule, the lineup has two models namely, the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra and ZTE Axon Pro. The device is the first in the world to have an under-display camera.
ZTE Axon 40 Ultra specifications:
The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra features an OLED panel without a punch-hole setup or a notch as it has an under-display camera. The screen has curved edges with a 71-degree curvature. It has a 6.81″ AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution along with 2480 x 1116 pixels, a high refresh rate of 120Hz, and a 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut.
It has 10-but colors, and 400 PPI pixel density, for biometrics, it has an integrated fingerprint sensor. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chip that arrives with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB with UFS 3.1 storage. The Axon 40 Ultra runs on Android 12 OS with MiFavor UI on top.
The device arrives with a 5,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging support, it does not have wireless charging support, however, it has a VC liquid cooling unit for efficient cooling.
Apart from this, the flagship device has dual speakers with DTS Ultra support and an X-axis linear motor. On the connectivity, front, it arrives with dual-SIM support, WiFi 6E support, Bluetooth 5.2, dual-frequency GPS, NFC support, and a USB Type-C port.
In terms of optics, the Axon 40 Ultra arrives with a 16MP under-display camera on the front. The third-generation camera technology is equipped with an independent pixel driver, a distributed transparent circuit, and a dedicated UDC Pro screen display chip.
On the rear, it has a 64MP primary sensor with OIS, an OIS-enabled 64MP telephoto lens, a flicker sensor, a ToF sensor, and a tri-microphone setup for audio zoom and recognition. All three 64MP sensors are capable of shooting 8K videos.
In terms of pricing, the Axon 40 Ultra is priced as follows:
- 8GB RAM+256GB – Yuan 4,998 or 57,551 INR
- 12GB RAM+256GB- Yuan 5,298 or 61,006 INR
- 12GB RAM+512GB- Yuan 5,798 or 66,763 INR
- 16GB RAM+1TB- Yuan 7,298 or 84,000 INR
The pre-sale of the device has already begun in China, the first sale will be held at 10 AM on the 13th of May. It arrives in black and silver colors. In terms of global release, ZTE has not mentioned anything yet.
