Zombie Reddy 2 Is Coming — And Teja Sajja’s Birthday Is The Perfect Reveal Date

A cult horror-comedy hit is getting a bigger, bolder second chapter. Teja Sajja’s “Zombie Reddy 2” is set for its official announcement on August 23, 2026 — timed to land exactly on the actor’s 31st birthday.

What We Know So Far

According to a Pinkvilla exclusive, the sequel to 2021’s “Zombie Reddy” will be officially unveiled tomorrow, with a source confirming the makers see this as the right moment to revive the zombie universe as a full franchise.

Zombie Reddy 2: Key Details

Why A New Director Is A Big Deal

The most notable detail here isn’t just that a sequel is happening — it’s that Prasanth Varma, who directed the original, won’t be returning for round two. Handing a beloved horror-comedy universe to a new filmmaker is a real risk, but it also signals the makers want a fresh creative take rather than a repeat of the first film’s formula, especially with a bigger budget and scale reportedly in play.

Why This Sequel Makes Sense

“Zombie Reddy” built a loyal following as a low-budget horror-comedy that punched above its weight, and Teja Sajja‘s career has only grown since then. Turning a one-off hit into a franchise is a smart move in a market where horror-comedy has become one of Telugu cinema’s most reliable genres — and launching the announcement on the actor’s birthday guarantees maximum organic buzz right out of the gate.
