ZEROBASEONE’s Sung Hanbin Solo Debut: Everything We Know About “DEAD:ALIVE”

He’s led ZEROBASEONE through chart-topping comebacks, sold-out tours, and countless variety appearances — now, Sung Hanbin is finally stepping into the spotlight alone. The ZB1 leader has officially confirmed his first solo EP, and the countdown has begun.

ZEROBASEONE: Announcement

On September 22, a scheduler was unveiled confirming Sung Hanbin’s solo debut EP, titled “DEAD:ALIVE.” The album is set to drop on October 12 at 6 p.m. KST, marking a major solo milestone for the ZEROBASEONE leader since the group’s debut in 2023.

While full track details haven’t been released yet, the scheduler is the first official confirmation that fans have been waiting for, and more teaser content is expected to roll out in the lead-up to release.

ZEROBASEONE: Overview

Who Is Sung Hanbin?

Sung Hanbin rose to fame after finishing 2nd on Mnet’s survival show Boys Planet, which led to his debut as a member — and eventual leader — of ZEROBASEONE. Since then, he’s expanded well beyond music, serving as an MC for M Countdown and hosting shows like World of Street Woman Fighter. Known for his sharp dance skills (he specializes in waacking and tutting) and steady leadership within the nine-member group, Hanbin has built a reputation as one of the most versatile faces of the current K-pop generation.

Why This Solo Debut Matters

Solo activities from group leaders are always closely watched, since they offer a rare glimpse into an idol’s individual artistry outside the group dynamic. With ZEROBASEONE’s contract reportedly running through early 2026, Hanbin’s solo run arrives at a pivotal moment — giving fans a chance to see his personal musical direction while the group continues its own promotions.

The title “DEAD:ALIVE” already has fans speculating about a darker, more conceptual sound compared to ZEROBASEONE’s typically bright, youthful discography — though nothing is confirmed until more teasers drop.

What’s Next?

Expect a steady rollout of concept photos, trailers, and possibly a tracklist reveal in the coming weeks as October 12 approaches. Given Hanbin’s popularity, this solo EP is likely to be one of the most anticipated K-pop releases of the season.
