The 2022 Recap is now accessible on YouTube for Android and iOS, and it is being rolled out by YouTube Music. Sadly, it is not accessible in areas that do not already offer the service, but you can just access it in any other area.
Open the YouTube Music app on a supported device, tap your profile image in the top-right corner, and then go to the Recap tab to access it. Once there, it will act as a feed “highlighting your top songs from each season” in addition to other highlights like the top musicians, tracks, music videos, and playlists. Similar to Spotify Wrapped, this method uses YouTube instead of Spotify. With a new Google Photos connection, though, Google is going a step further by enabling users to blend “music and memories for a nostalgic look back at your year.”
Moving on, you will have access to Top Trends and Identity through the new YouTube Music Recap. As the name implies, one presents musicians you discover ahead of other users, while the other really develops a “music personality” based on your listening habits and musical preferences.
Last but not least, you’ll have access to the remixes, live performances, and other YouTube-only materials you accessed this year on the page. The best part of this is that Google is bringing the same experience to the main app as well, allowing an increasing number of users to participate and enjoy a tailored experience.
