YouTube announced some new design changes that are rolling out now, including pinch-to-zoom for everyone and precise seeking with a more usable preview to help you find the section of the video you’re looking for. It seems that Google has made the transition to a new UI design. More curved corners, new buttons, new pure black background, new tabs and much more are available in this new update. New UI is a major update, because it’s available on both mobile and desktop devices.

New color palette is more prominent in redesign phase of YouTube. Colors are made cool in a way that does not disturb the audience. And new feature Ambient Mode, adds a subtle effect to video player background so that app background color is adapted to match video theme. This feature will be available on all platforms with dark theme. Redesign of all pages, buttons, etc. there are many innovations available.
An “ambient mode” changes the background color of the app in a subtle way to match the video that is playing, an effect that YouTube says is meant to draw viewers into the content. Ambient mode will be available on the web and on mobile when the dark theme is enabled. The dark theme has also been updated to be even darker than before, a change made due to user feedback.
There are quite a few changes available on web homepage. Moreover, common action buttons (like, share, download, subscribe, turn on notifications) have been changed and now they look more elegant. On iOS and Android devices, a pinch to zoom feature that’s been in testing is rolling out as of today. Users can zoom in and out of a video, and when the zoom in function is used, the rest of the video stays zoomed until the user zooms back out.
The subscribe button is also getting a touch-up: the new shape and high contrast make it stand out, and while it’s no longer red, it’s easier to find and way more accessible to everyone on both watch pages and channel pages, the company said. Additionally, the company has also introduced a ‘Precise seeking’ feature that allows users to simply drag or swipe up while seeking to display a row of thumbnails in the video player.
