Apple TV delivering performance with an excellent combination of features. offering many streaming software like Netflix, Spotify, etc. and sporting the beautiful tvOS 14, has been a fan favorite in the market.

The smart tv offering many features, however, always lacked one particular feature. It didn’t support Youtube 4K. Yes, it’s frustrating, I know. Unable to stream 4K videos from youtube is a big disappointment, which the Cupertino giant had never responded to.

However things are finally changing.

Apple’s latest software upgrade for the Apple TV 4K has brought around YouTube 4K with it. Finally, we will be able to play 4K YouTube videos. But, there is a catch.

Users can play 4K youtube videos, but they can only do so at 30fps. There goes my excitement.

The Company, however, has still not offered a depth of color or even contrast that High Dynamic Range (HDR) can provide for 4k YouTube videos. The Cupertino giant’s Smart TV OS only supports Youtube 4K videos at 30fps with only SDR.

If you try playing videos at 50fps, or 60 fps, then the resolution drops to 1440p. HDR will still not be supported even at 1440p resolution. This is certainly is disappointing.

Apple still unable to offer 4K resolution at 60 fps for YouTube videos still seems like a dream. If the feature might become more complete in Apple’s future devices is still unknown. But the company has at least taken a step towards the future of youtube on Apple TV. this certainly gives me home.

Perhaps the company is saving the future model feature and is waiting to surprise us in the next quarter. Well, its almost been three years since Apple TV received its last major update. At least there is the hope of getting YouTube at 4K with 60 fps soon. I, for one, am anxiously waiting for the Next update of Apple TV 4K.
