Xiaomi is reportedly gearing up to unveil two foldable smartphones, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 and the Mix Flip, the company’s first foray into flip-style foldables. The Mix Fold 4 specs were exposed in March, and the Mix Flip has already received certification in China, confirming the phone’s support for satellite connectivity.
All You Need to Know About the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 and Mix Flip
Today, new details about both phones were leaked by Digital Chat Station via Weibo. When the waterproofing standards of the Mix Flip and the thinnest foldable claim of the Mix Fold 4 are taken into account, the reports offer valuable insights easily. Both Xiaomi foldables will boast the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and feature a 50 MP 1/1.55″ main camera equipped with OIS for superior image stabilization.
Additionally, they will also present identical camera configurations based on the 60 MP Omnivision OV60A 2x telephoto lens of 1/2.8” and the 12 MP ultrawide lens. After this setup, the Mix Flip stops at the third camera, while the Mix Fold 4 also gets the fourth one: the 10 MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x zoom. Given the above, the Mix Fold 4 will be the first to receive the IP rating in the foldable line execution by Xiaomi and wireless charging, just as sources said.
As for the release, both are expected to take place from July through September in the third quarter of the current year. However, the timing of their launch within the quarter may face challenges, considering that Xiaomi is expected to unveil the Xiaomi 15, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC, in mid-October.
Unfortunately, prospects for international availability seem dim, as both the Mix Fold 4 and Mix Flip are likely to remain exclusive to the Chinese market, with no official plans for an international launch.
