The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Pro could be next in line for launch just a couple of months after the arrival of the Smart Band 9. Even the Band 8 Pro isn’t a year old yet, but unofficial renders show that its successor, the Band 9 Pro is right around the corner.

But, there are only very small design differences from the Band 8 Pro. The display is the most obvious change, as it appears to be slightly subtended rather than perfectly flat like last year’s panel. Additionally, the strap looks subtly enhanced, with the clasp moved closer to the end, reminiscent of the Apple Watch‘s design. The single navigation button remains a familiar pill shape.
The new Band 9 Pro adopts a major appearance change in the side frame, which uses a glossy metal finish on the Band 8 Pro and tentatively switched to a matte texture treatment. While renders show smaller bezels and a bigger display, it is currently not possible to exactly figure out the dimensions.
As per the leaked images, It looks like Band 9 Pro will be available in a minimum of three colors – silver, black, and gold. We may see other colors emerge over time but these are the only two confirmed for now. Official specs are unconfirmed at this stage, however, the Band 8 Pro gives us a fair idea of what we can expect. It featured a 1.74-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 336 x 480, a 60Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 600 nits, making it easy to read in sunlight.
It was equally good in terms of health and fitness tracking covering continuous heart rate measurement, 24-hour blood oxygen saturation detection, all-day stress tracking; sleep-based advice and suggestions (TruSleep) as well as up to 5 ATM water resistance. It covered almost every workout scenario with more than 150 sports modes and complex algorithms.
The Band 9 Pro may also have these same features with possible improvements in the future. Expect features such as auto-brightness, GPS support, more watch faces (with an AOD option), and fitness tracking with the help of your Mi Fitness App to be supported.
