The latest details about the Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 have surfaced online giving us a glimpse of what to expect from the phone. The leaked information hints at improvements like a body, a more robust hinge, and the chance of having an IP rating suggesting that Xiaomi’s foldable device could be more durable. Moreover, specifics about the phone’s components have emerged, including its ability to support two-way satellite communication.

Rumors About the Xiaomi MIX Fold 4

As per insights shared by tipster DigitalChatStation on Weibo, a microblogging platform the MIX Fold 4 is likely to come with an enhanced hinge design that could minimize creases when unfolded. It’s projected to weigh between 220g and 240g and might offer memory features such as up to 16GB of RAM and a storage capacity of 1TB.

Internally rumors suggest that the MIX Fold 4 will pack a 5,000mAh battery supporting charging at 100W. It might be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset for seamless performance. On the photography front, there could be a sensor of 50MP alongside lenses, like a periscope lens and an ultrawide shooter.

According to a source, a standout aspect is the addition of satellite communication enabling the MIX Fold 4 to link up with satellites, in low orbit for network access in regions with sparse ground-level cell tower service. Furthermore, there could be an axis vibration motor in the device, for tactile feedback providing faster responses, more intense vibrations, and reduced energy usage when compared to a Z-axis motor.

In addition to the leaked specifications, it is speculated that the MIX Fold 4 could run on Android 14-based HyperOS and feature an improved AMOLED display for both the cover and main screens. Considering that the MIX Fold 3 was unveiled in August 2023, further details about the MIX Fold 4 are expected to emerge in due course.
