Xiaomi has always been an innovative brand, especially when it comes to its premium flagship devices. They have earned a name for providing the best bang for the buck devices in the mid-range market but they like to go above and beyond when it comes to their flagship models. A new report that emerged today suggesting that the Xiaomi Mi 12 will get an LPDDR5X RAM along with a potential Snapdragon 898 processor and 192MP camera sensor.
Tipster Ice Universe claims that both the Xiaomi Mi 12 and the Samsung Galaxy S33 will take advantage of the benefits that the LPDDR5X RAM will offer. This RAM provides a significant boost in read rate over its predecessors and in comparison to the LPDDR5 that was used in the Mi 11 and Mi 10. The latest standard can give +33.3% speeds bumping the speed from 6,400MBPS to 8,533MBPS.
The current Snapdragon 888 SoC supports LPDDR5 which is why, Xiaomi seems to have gone with a better chipset, or at least that is what the rumors indicate as of now. The Snapdragon 898 chipset will be capable of supporting this latest RAM extension.
When it comes to the camera of the device, the Mi 12 is likely to come with a 192MP camera whereas the Mi 12 Ultra can have a 200MP camera. The devices will support 120W fast charging, 100W wireless charging, and have a 2K 1-120Hz adaptive display.
These rumors do nothing but increase our excitement and eagerness until Xiaomi gives us the official specs of the Mi 12 and Mi 12 Ultra or a release date. It sure appears to be a revolutionary phone that could very well alter the direction flagship devices are headed towards.
