Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth 5G launched with Snapdragon 765G and a 50X periscopic lens

Xiaomi finally launched the Mi 10 Youth as an addition to the Mi 10 series today. The phone is launched in China starting from CNY2,099 ($300/€275/Rs.22,500). The phone comes with an interesting 5X periscopic lens as a part of the quad-rear camera setup.

The phone is the liter version of the vanilla Mi 10. Fro the past few days the company has been teasing several specs with the help of official posters to keep the hype intact. The launch took place very silently with the proper events and a few press releases to showcase the official launch.

Details:

The Mi 10 Youth features a 6.57-inch FHD+ (1080×2400 pixels) AMOLED display with 180Hz touch sampling rate and also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 support. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 765G 5G octa-core processor paired with Adreno 620 GPU and up to 8GB of RAM. The phone will come with internal storage supported up to 256GB.

Now coming to the camera portion, the Mi 10 Youth Edition includes a 48MP ultra-clear main camera with f/1.9 aperture, and an 8MP periscope telephoto lens with 50x periscope zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, and 5x optical zoom support, an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens that offers 120 degree field of view and f/2.2 aperture, and another independent macro lens with 2cm-10cm focusing distance. The front camera comes with a 16MP shooter housed in the tear drop notch.

Mi 10 Youth will ship with MIUI 11 based on Android 10, though the company has released the MIUI 12 before coming to the launch of the Mi 10 Youth. The phone is powered by a 4,160mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging support. Connectivity – 5G SA/NSA, USB Type-C port, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth v5.1, NFC, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and more. As we predicted that the phone will be a 5G device because it comes with Snapdragon 765G.

Price and Availability:

Mi 10 Youth will be available in five colors – Blue, White, Black, Green, and Orange/Peach. The Mi 10 Youth 5G starts from CNY2,099 ($300/€275) for the 6GB + 64 GB version and goes up to CNY2,799 ($400/€365) for the 8GB + 256 GB option. The pre-order has already begun in China at Xiaomi’s website with a deposit of CNY100, and the first flash sale is scheduled for May 4.
