Xiaomi declares about the manufacturing of smartphones in Pakistan by January 2022

It is reported that in the material disclosure statement that has been presented at the Pakistan Stock Exchange has been indicated that the Chinese tech powerhouse Xiaomi will start their production of smartphones in Pakistan from January 2022. In this Xiaomi is aiming to manufacture up to 3 million smartphones annually in its Pakistan production facility. It is expected that the revenue from Xiaomi’s Pakistan operations will be in the region of $450 million. The key details that had been filed this week to the Pakistan Stock Exchange by the local partner of Xiaomi, Air Link Communication Limited. In this, the arrangement of the production is in between Xiaomi and Select Technologies Limited that is the subsidiary of Air Link Communication Limited. It has been informed that Select Technologies will serve as the manufacturing partner for Xiaomi in Pakistan by focusing on the production of smartphones. This company has been tasked with the manufacturing of mobile devices of certain brands. It might be possible that Xiaomi may not ultimately be the only brand that will also be manufactured by Select Technologies.

The base company, Air Link Communication Limited has said that their new investment that targets annual production of between 2.5 million to 3 million units will also have a material incremental impact on the financial outlook of the company. It has been said that the revenue projection of the new manufacturing of Xiaomi smartphones has been projected at $450 million annually. The facility of production has been sited close to Air Link’s mobile phone manufacturing complex in Lahore. They will continue to hold a huge amount of distribution chain of Xiaomi smartphones in Pakistan, and their latest production facility will entrench further its position in the market.

This company will continue to expanding of their operations outsides of China as they feel the gap left behind by Huawei. Globally Xiaomi has also had some impressive numbers as a leader in the smartphone segment. The data come from several sources that have been pointed to the fact that Xiaomi is recently the world’s big selling smartphone brand, both with Apple and Samsung. It seems that the extension of Xiaomi’s Pakistan operations will be included in the growing profile of the Chinese giant.
