Xiaomi and Vivo to launch smartphones worth 10,000 yuan ($1548) in 2021

Innovations in the smartphone industry have been rapid since the last few years. Earlier, this innovation was driven by global companies like Samsung and Apple. But in the last half-decade, things have changed massively.

Those two companies and many new Chinese companies are marching towards the innovative future of smartphones. Xiaomi and Vivo are two such Chinese companies who have disrupted the market with their innovations and technology.

Just like 5G is the future in the technology space, foldable smartphones are the future in the smartphone domain. The combinations of these two features will attract the customers in the near future.

If we believe the reports floating in the social media, Xiaomi and VIVO will come out with devices that will cost more than 10,000 yuan ($1548). This is a huge change, considering the main USP of Chinese smartphones offers devices at low prices. Due to cheap labour and robust manufacturing units, smartphones made in China are often sold at lower costs.

Foldable smartphones are built with new technology support. This will raise the cost of the devices. Also, low competition in this niche allows companies to charge a higher margin from customers. Apple’s iPhone 12 Pro Max 256GB charge more than 10,000 yuan.

Huawei’s Mate 40 RS Porsche design is priced from 11,999. OPPO Find X2 Pro Lamborghini version comes at 12,999 yuan. Thus, even if Xiaomi and Vivo are planning to charge more than 10,000 yuan, it is not very new. The foldable smartphones offer a new experience to the users and thus charging a bit higher for these devices should not be an issue for the companies.
